The Spanish, the europeans who use their smartphone the most but they don't assure it

It is the first thing they use when they wake up, and also when they go to sleep, with more than 2 hours of connection per day on average and used for a great number of uses, the Spanish are the Europeans who spend more time connected to their smartphone, however, not all of them secure their mobile device...

The recent study on digital life, carried out by the insurance company Celside Insurance and the consulting firm Harris Interactive to more than 3,000 Europeans in Spain, France and Portugal has determined the main habits of consumers regarding the use of their smartphone in their daily lives. These were the most relevant results:

THE MOST CONNECTED...

The smartphone is part of our daily life, it is the last thing we see when we sleep, and the first thing when we wake up. More than 50% of Spanish people spend more than two hours a day connected to their mobile device, data that increases among the youngest with 83%.

We also eat with it, according to the study, 58% of Spaniards do not disconnect from their mobile phone at lunchtime, compared to 42% of Portuguese and 37% of French. These figures put us on the podium as those who stay connected to their mobile phones the longest.

WHAT DO WE USE IT FOR?

Far beyond calls and text messages, our smartphone has become a tool with a multitude of applications for daily use by users; from chats (80%), mobile payments (78%), social networks (62%), videogames (53%) photos and videos (49%) to bank queries and even teleworking, our mobile is an indispensable multitasking tool for our daily lives.

OUR MOST PRECIOUS ASSET...

60% of Spaniards say that they could not be without a mobile phone in a difficult situation. If it was already an essential asset for many in our daily lives, during confinement it has been even more so, during the weeks of the state of alarm, the mobile phone has helped more than 66% of Spaniards to be closer to their loved ones and 25% to feel less alone.

Moreover, it is the object that we fear the most even before we lose our credit card or identity card, as is the case in France or Portugal. 23% of Spaniards state that they have lost their mobile phone at some time (compared to 17% of French and 19% of Portuguese), although only 28% had insured their mobile phone against this risk.

Despite the fact that Spanish users are fully aware of the importance of the mobile phone in their daily lives, only 25% who have lost or had their mobile phone stolen at some time had insurance at that time.

If it is so important for our lives, why would we still be reluctant to take out mobile phone insurance?
